ABA Members Head for Stockton Lake

Missouri Division Number 126 of the American Fishing tour heads to Stockton Lake this weekend. Fishing on the lake is reported as still slow due to cold water temperature (38-40), but the weather forecast is indicating conditions that will allow those water temps to rise this week. Twenty to 30 anglers are expected to compete at this qualifying event. Launching out of Hawker Point public boat ramp, these anglers are fishing for both cash and points. The points help the anglers to qualify for the American Fishing Tour National Championship.

There is a lot at stake for the Division 126 weekend anglers. One angler from division 126 will advance to the Angler of the Year Final Round. The top angler from each division that has fished 4 one-day and a two-day in that division will get a one-day practice, one-day tournament shot at fully loaded Triton/Mercury Boat Package in September.

“Stockton is a great fishery”, said Becky Minor, ABA Division 126 Director. “It was really hot last year and a lot of anglers are anxious to start the season this year”, concluded Minor.

Anglers can register onsite at the event at 6:00 a.m. There will be a safety and pairing briefing and launch will be at 7:00 a.m. Weigh-in will start at about 3:15 p.m. at Hawker Point public boat ramp. Visit www.centralmidwestbass.com for updated information including results with pictures
