American Bass Anglers Division 126 Prepare for Stockton

Stockton, MO Division Number 126 of the American Fishing tour will be on Stockton Lake June 19, 2010. Fishing on Stockton has been very good and 20-25 anglers will compete at this divisional qualifying event. Launching out of Hawker Point Public Ramp, these anglers are fishing for both cash, prizes and points. The points help the anglers to qualify for the Divisional 2-day Championship, to be held August 21-22, 2010, as well as the American Fishing Tour National Championship, scheduled for October 6-8, 2010 on Kentucky Lake.

Carl CoxThere is a lot at stake for the Division 126 weekend anglers. One angler from this division will advance to the Angler of the Year Final Round. The top angler from each division that has fished 4 one-day and a two-day in that division will get a one-day practice, one-day tournament shot at fully loaded Triton/Mercury Boat Package in September. With only three qualifiers left, the top four contenders are very close in points. Carl Cox is leading with 573 points, followed closely by Chad McManis with 571, Mark Moody with 570, and Tony French with 565.

“Stockton has been really hot the past couple of seasons, and this season is proving to hold true to that same description”, said Becky Minor, ABA Division 126 Director. “The weather has been a major factor in the tournament we have held so far this year, so we’re hoping for great fishing conditions for June 19”, concluded Minor.

Anglers can pre-register for this tournament at the Stockton Lake Mini Mart located south of Stockton on HWY 39 on Friday evening from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm. They can also register Saturday morning at Hawker Point Public Ramp at 4:30 am. There will be a safety and pairing briefing beginning at 5:00am We will launch at 5:30 am and fish until 2:30 pm. Weigh-in will begin at 2:45 pm followed by presentation of cash prizes and awards. The public is invited to the launch and/or the weigh-in.
The next Division 126 qualifier will be two one-day tournaments held at Stockton Lake on July 31 and August 1 going out of Hawker Point Public Ramp.
