Welcom to New Members

Postby Becky » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:06 pm

We have several new members to American Bass Anglers and to this forum. Welcome to our family of bass anglers. Watch this site for announcements and other information. Ask questions; post comments. Just keep it clean and of interest to our members. Be sure and check out our list of local sponsors. They help us, so lets help them.

Thank you Becky. I look forward to fishing with all of you, as I am passionate about this sport. If anyone wants to do some preseason angling please shoot me an email. I certainly would not be opposed to driving down from manhattan to wet a line, as I have the "Fever" so bad right now I can hardly stand it. I can be reached at scottmchapman68@yahoo.com. Again, thank you for the welcome Becky.
Respectfully,
Scott Chapman

P.S. I also wanted to discuss some of the preferred baits to use at Big Hill as I have only fished this lake once from the shore and that was for a very short time. I caught a few smallies and few lm's on senko's. Anybody care to weigh in on some suggestions. I'm guessing a jig n pig would do the trick, as well as shad or craw patterend crankbaits. Let me know what you think. THANKS.

Jigs are my bait of choice at Big Hill Scott. Check out Richard Fitzwater's website. http://www.fitzwaterlures.com/ He is a sponsor and if you ask anyone they will tell you that Richard makes a top-notch jig. He makes some special colors that work really well in this area. Many can attest to their fish-catching ability! Look forward to seeing you at this years' tournaments. Welcome!

Thank you for the response and the link. Those jigs look super. They kind of remind of the eakins jigs that I have been using for years. Pig and Jig is my all time favorite lure to use, in terms of catching quality sized fish. I dont care what anybody says, they can catch fish ALL year long. Havent looked at that link in depth yet but judging from their homepage, I can already tell that is a very good jig. Do you mind giving some advice on the colors you prefer? Im guessing Black/Blue or Pumpkinseed/Orange depending on water clarity. My two favorite colors anyways. Thanks again for the input, I too look forward to fishing with you and learning as much as I possibly can.
